Overview
This intensive program is designed for those who have completed the Basic course or have some foundational experience and wish to become professional sound therapy practitioners.
You will learn complex techniques, delve into the intricacies of the human energy system and gain the confidence to offer one-on-one therapeutic sessions.
Curriculum
Origins across Nepal, Tibet, India and Bhutan; significance in Buddhist and Hindu traditions; sacred geometry; the seven metals and their astrological correlations.
Frequency, amplitude, wavelength and resonance; entrainment; the effect of sound on the nervous system; an introduction to cymatics.
Hand-hammered vs machine-made bowls; sizes and sonic properties; Jambati, Thadobati, Remuna, Ultabati and Manipuri bowls; choosing your first bowl.
Striking with wood, felt and leather mallets; the sustained friction method; posture and holding; rim circling.
A personal daily sound ritual for stress relief and chakra balancing; a simple full-body sound bath sequence for a partner.
Multi-bowl playing; stimulating vs sedating mallet techniques; wind chimes, ting-shas and dorjes; rhythmic patterns and sonic landscapes.
The seven main chakras and their frequencies; nadis and marmas; chakra scanning with bowls; targeted sessions for imbalances.
Client intake; structuring a 60–75 minute session; protocols for stress, anxiety, pain, insomnia and emotional release; aftercare.
Professional boundaries, limitations of sound therapy, setting up a practice.
Supervised practice, mock client sessions and case-study discussions.
